Historic Million Dollar Settlement Arising from Idaho Power Dam Case

After SRW sued Idaho Power for over $125 million in damages for Clean Water Act violations from unpermitted operation of Brownlee Dam, the company decided to self-report similar permitting violations at 15 other dams in Idaho – and has now agreed to pay a penalty of more than $1 million to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality in a historic settlement. The settlement dollars will be used to mitigate damages from years of illegal pollution.
