Historic Progress on Dam Removal & Salmon Recovery

On December 14, the Biden administration released a long-anticipated statement announcing its commitment to restoring Columbia Basin salmon populations—finally taking meaningful action toward honoring our country’s treaty-bound obligations to Native American Tribes and acknowledging the critical importance of dam removal on the Lower Snake River for Pacific Northwest salmon species survival.

We are not yet at the finish line, but this announcement brings us much closer to a free-flowing Snake River, abundant salmon and steelhead, and a healthy ecosystem. Learn more at
