Idaho cities forced to clean up wastewater treatment plant pollution

Following on the heels of the notice letter SRW sent to the Cities of Kuna and Deary, notifying each that we would be forced to sue if the Cities failed to clean up polluting operations at their wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality stepped in and filed suit over the WWTPs’ repeated Clean Water Act violations. The court found that the Cities of Kuna and Deary were in direct violation of their pollution discharge permits, and ordered each to pay fines and update their facilities to come into compliance with federal regulations.
